Fun Friday - Update 41

A wonderful update this week with two beautiful girls! The girls are both healthy and growing. Please be praying for their protection and health as there have been other kids in the foster home who have gotten very sick and hospitalized. The rainy season in Ethiopia is starting soon and the temperatures are getting colder. Viruses will start to kick into gear. We are praying we can be there very soon and would love to have them home in the near future.

Great news this week!! We have a our birth relative interview on Friday!! This is a very big deal. After this interview (and assuming he passes), we will be able to then go to court and legally take custody of the girls! Friends, we are so close to bringing our girls home!!!!

Dear Father, we ask that you bless over the girls while we are here. We pray that you keep our family, including the twins healthy. We welcome your presence in this journey and our lives. Please give peace and safety to the birth relative traveling from so far away to appear before the courts. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your wise, sovereign ways. For blessing our family and joining our hearts. We trust you, Abba. We know that you care about the details. You search our hearts and meet us where we are. Thank you. For all that you do. For all that you are. Amen.

**Update: Our birth relative passed court!!!!

Fun Friday - Update 40

Love seeing them play with the toys we brought them. Look at her sweet smile :)

Another good week for both girls! All smiles and as healthy as can be!

It was a quiet week. Our case supervisor was out of town. Please be praying for court submission soon. We hope to find out more by Monday and would love to hear we have been submitted. I called the courier service in DC earlier this week and did find out that our paperwork is in the process of being finalized and sent to Ethiopia. Yay!! Music to our ears!!

God, thank you for your goodness. For your patience and kindness. For comforting us on the days that we don't understand why children need to wait so long to be placed in loving homes. Thank you of the peace you give and for the small steps of victory with paperwork. We are so anxious to hold these girls close soon. We know your timing is just right. We hold on to your truth and your promises. Thank you for the busy weeks recently to help keep us on our toes. We've really enjoyed our time together as a family. Please bless these upcoming weeks. Please help us to bring these babies home soon. We are counting on it!! Amen.

Fun Friday - Update 39

Pretty in Pink

A great week for the girls! They both look fantastic despite a mild tummy bug for one. I'm so thankful for the doctor that rounds on the girls every three days and the nanny's that care for our girls while we are way. Really, its priceless to have such great care. After visiting in January, we felt really blessed to leave them in the hands of women who give so much of themselves to love on each child.

This last week was big for us. Our PAIR letter arrived!!! We were able to send it off to our agency the same day. They will then send it to DC to be authenticated. We feel confident that we will be submitted to court very soon!!!! We are still hoping and praying for July!!

Father, thank you for these precious girls you have placed in our lives. Thank you for the women and men in our lives who support our our journey. For the many who care each day for our girls. Thank you for blessing us with our letter this week. For answering so many of our prayers. We feel so happy to be moving forward. We are so close! Thrilled to have them in our arms again soon! Woohooo! Amen.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girls!

We celebrated you both today from thousands of miles away. We sang you the birthday song. We danced. And how we filled this space with love.

We wish you were home. We never imagined that we would still be waiting this long to hold you tight and kiss those lovely cheeks. But know, in this waiting time, that God is up to something so big. So special. A day doesn't go by without you close to our hearts. We pray tonight, on this birthday night, that God answer our prayers to bring you both home very soon.

Thank you Father for the miracle of birth! For the joy of your children. In your precious name, Amen.

Fun Friday - Update 38

A great week of updates! The girls look amazing despite a little skin infection. Happy, smiley and playing so sweetly in their photos!

We are waiting on the PAIR letter to arrive. It should be here early this week!! Once it arrives, it will be sent to DC to be authenticated then off to Ethiopia to be submitted to court. Wooohhoooo!!

Lord, thank you for the gift of adoption. Thank you for life and for each day we get to experience. It's truly beautiful to get to love these girls from afar. Thank you Father for our journey. The hard, the happy and everything in between. Amen.

We cleared US PAIR!!!!

We woke up to the e-mail we have been anticipating for many weeks now! I heard the phone ring and Mike get up to change into scrubs. He was on his way to the hospital for a delivery. I was silently praying he checked our e-mail. He is so excited to bring these little ones home. We are both beside ourselves. I open one eye in hopes of hearing good news. He whispers in my ear as he bends down to kiss my cheek, "I love you babe. The e-mail arrived."

I didn't have to ask which one. I knew. The one we have prayed over and hoped for. The e-mail that would tell us that the United States, after investigations and interviews, will allow us to move forward to bring the girls home. This is a BIG milestone in the process! Huge. Nine months from the day we were matched, the e-mail was delivered. Like a mama giving birth, the release of this news nearly made my heart exploded with excitement. All of this time waiting. We are one step closer. We have cleared!!

The PAIR letter will be sent out soon from USCIS. Once we receive our letter, we send it on to Washington DC to be authenticated. The letter will then fly to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This is the last document needed to be submitted to court. We are expecting from now till submission will take 2-3 weeks. And hoping the birth relative interview to be approximately 2 weeks later. We need to wait for signatures from the Ethiopian Federal MOWCYA afterward. Next we will travel to appear in court. Once we pass court we can show you their beautiful, smiley faces! Please pray for July to be our month!

Thank you, Jesus for our girls! Thank you that you have a hand in this process. We don't always understand your ways in the moment but you promise to one day help us to fully comprehend. We trust in your goodness. Thank you for always knowing what is best for us. What is optimal for the girls. We praise you for your faithfulness. Thank you, Father. Amen.
